If you are in Guatemala this is the first place you should see or maybe antigua but you should not miss this one. It is home to some the most impressive and mightiest Mayan ancient ceremonial cities and cities. Tikal National Park is a compound of ruins located in a tropical forest part of the Maya Biosphere Reserve, full of wildlife and exotic birds. It was the first National Park declared in Guatemala. But Tikal isn’t the only thing there is to see in Petn. It is also home to the Yaxha & El Mirador Mayan cities. There is also the colorful island town of Flores located on Lake Petn Itz.

This city is a lot more than just a fabled colonial, cobblestoned street filled with delicious restaurants, luxury hotels, colorful homes, popular Spanish Schools and handcraft markets. no much people notices that but there are and have been many efforts that it’s people is doing to preserve the same majesty it did when it was the epicenter of Central America’s power during the 17th and 18th century.

In this case my husband and I wanted to have a romantic day out, so first we went out for lunch at a really cute restaurant called Cafe Flor where they serve really good Thai food. Then we went for a prvate salsa class which turned out to be an extra fun adventure.

As you guys know I have been spending my days exploring Guatemala as much as I can. For this adventure we were staying in the colorful Cobn town which we toured before doing anything else. It turned out to be a beautiful town! Then the next day we visited the Lanquin Caves where we were surprised by hundreds of bats and some beautiful rock formations. Then for our last part of adventures in the area we went for a visit to Semuc Champey.
