That time, bedbugs were easily eradicated because a potent insecticide was used. The insecticide was DDT. But today, this insecticide is no longer being sold. How did bedbugs get to the United States? According to history, bedbugs came to the United States through the European colonists. Good thing that when DDT was used, bedbugs were eradicated. Unfortunately, DDT has been banned for so long already. And this caused bedbugs to re-appear. Aside from that, international travel has also increased the number of bedbug infestations in the country.
