1. Check your flight status 2. Wear comfortable clothing 3. Be prepared 4. Know your rights
For your convenience, check your flight status online. The advantages of checking in online will not only save you time and money but will also allow you change your seat to a desirable location. Also, some airlines have lower charges in checking your luggage via the internet versus at the ticket counter.
It is also important to keep track of your flight and weather conditions, this will keep away unneeded stress. Airlines will keep passengers posted for any delays for their flight ahead of time. Anticipate some delays, depending on the place of your departure and your destination.
It’s always a good idea to bring a change of clothing with you on a carry bag, regardless of your purpose of traveling. You will never know if there are some delays on the way, when this happens, you will have fresh and clean clothing.
When flying, wearing comfortable clothing will help make your waiting time and flight time more enjoyable and relaxing. If you have a connecting flight, it’s much easier to travel between terminals in comfortable clothing than business attire. Being comfortable is a key assets when traveling between flights.
Always have to mindset to be prepared for anything. Bring your MP3 or DVD player, these will keep you entertained while on-board and in between flights, it also helps pass the time quicker.
Make it a point to bring any kind of snack, better if it is your favorite. Food and drinks sold at airports can be more expensive.
Reading material is another great way to pass the time, that is if you are an avid reader. Bring a book that you have always wanted to read but felt that you haven’t had the time. You’ll never know how long you could be waiting in the plane or in the terminal.
There are unprecedented circumstance where your flight is somehow canceled for no apparent reason and with no prior advice from the airline company at that. The best way to get around this is to know your rights as a patron of the airline and talk to the flight administrator; you might need to present tickets and reservations that will put you on your flight.
